Belgium TV sucs.

February 20th, 2007

The other night I planed to record a wonderfull movie on the Belgium TV. Hong gao liang (red sorghum [cereal?]), with is beautifull filmed. I was hoping to be able to make a copie on my new DVD player, find out how things work.

But, the awfull Belgium TV did not, without any announcement, broadcast it. And this is not the first time they do this. Very annoying.

Look here if you want to now more about this movie.

Graham… again!

February 20th, 2007

Graham wants to be named on this blog. As if he wasn’t the very second post. With picture!…
But hey darling, your wish is my command, didn’t I tell you?

And let me tell the world right now that he is the one of the roses, isn’t that adorable?

If you send me some pics of you I will put them here as well. Let David or Keith make some since you are tanning right now whilst sailing.

stm_guadeloupe.jpgIn the mean time i put a picture here to get some idea of where he is these days. Right now Graham is sailing from Antigua (Felmouth) to St. Marin. About 14 hours sailing when the wind is right.
From there they are planning to sail south to Guadaloupe. Something to be envious about. I definiteley am.

Did you know…

February 19th, 2007

…that ringtones (yes, those irritating sounds coming from cellphones) are good for 5,5 billion euro per jear? My god, had I known that earlier…

Here is a nice one that could make you crazy when you don’t pick up the phone at once. zingtone1.mp3

To be pampered… in Portugal

February 19th, 2007

Next week we will be in Portugal. Wellness week! And well we will be.
Casa Conmigo lies in Porimao, an old fishing harbour in the South of huis_2.jpgPortugal, the Algarve.

slaapkamer_1p.jpgWe will have massages, beauty treatments and everything. And of course we will be working out all the time…

Also it is a perfect opportunity to hike in the mountans and stroll along the beach.

I am so looking forward to it.

And the good thing is that there will be a wireless internet connection, so this blog will still be alive.

Driver’s licence again

February 19th, 2007

driverslicence.jpgThis morning I went to the city hall to pick up my new driver’s licence. Yes the one with that ugly photo. Since the end of last year it is not a peace of pink paper anymore it is a real creditcard without the credit. Very American.

This is how it looks.

I wish that all the other cards coold be combined in one. Technically this is already possible of course.
For at the moment I’m carrying more then 10 cards around. Including the one for the metro. I mean, it is ridiculous, isn’t it?

Warm

February 18th, 2007

lezen.jpgIt is winter, isn’t it! It’s cold, for me that is, I find it cold.
So, when reading, for that is a very coldish thing to do, I sit against the heating.
What will I do when the rebuildig is done and I don’t have this radiator anymore? (for then it will be built in to the floor)

Music by surprise

February 18th, 2007

This morning I was tidying away a few things and found a CD which I thought would cary some boring stuf like minutes of meetings of the association of owners of our building. But as it turned out it had some beautifull music on it.

Listen to this little piece: ikdenkaan.wav (where do you think of now? I still think of you!), and this guitar40.mp3.
That was a nice surprise on this quiet Sunday morning.

(I hope I will be able to actually upload the music, so wait while I’m studying on that. Finally I did manage but it took me hours and a whole lot more RSI to find out.)

Iranian food

February 17th, 2007

Last night a friend and I had dinner at this wonderfull place just underneath the ‘Hef’, as the old iron bridge is called.

It is just at the other side of the Maas, from where we live, so we could walk over there.

The food was very good, we had a sort of warm aubergine puree as a starter and lamb as maincourse. Al specials of the house. But the most importent thing is that the people are wo very nice, you want to come back.

There was a sort of family gathering, we felt like visiting a wedding party. Life iranian music, guestst dansing. Lovely.

Permanent ventilation

February 17th, 2007

The other day I had a discussion about ventilation. Yes, ventilation… Our government wants us to ventilate 24 hours a day. They actually had a campain for this on TV. And my girlfriend said that while ventilating the warmth will go out. So your energiebill rises. Sounds logical. But that appears not to be true for dry air, what you get when ventilating, heats up much easier then moist air.

Isn’t this amazing ;-)
