This weekend I’m going to travel to Paris to meet my Antiguan friend Jill. I take the Thalys on Saturday and will be back on Monday. Same goes for her so we’ll have a nice diner the first evening and chat and chat.
I suggested we go sailing on the Seine on sunday. That would be lovely. Hope the weather doesn’t let us down.
We are staying in Montmartre, hotel Avia.
Yesterday, Sunday, I have been sailing with my family. And those two gorgeous nieces I wrote about before.
We had a very lovely afternoon on the boat and on my terrace afterwards. See for pictures this link. Beautifull pics due to my sister in law who is a gifted photographer with a brandnew, almost professional, camera.
Lisanne and Marleen took terms in steering and I must admit, they were good at it, real naturals. Although I must not forget my father an brother. They did a very good job too.
And this pickture is send to the photo competition in my building. If that’s not the winning photo…!
Usually I just stick my nose in things. Yesterday I followed it and I can tell you, that’s not advisable. I was going to a meeting in my Entrepot building and thought there was a door standing open. It turned out it was not. There was a glass wall and I fully bumpted with my nose against that window. Almost broke it, my nose that is. It looked broken in the begining because a huge bruise was forming on one side of my nose. Fortunately it turned out to be just a bruise which disappeared over night.
Fortunately because one of my best friends is marrying today. Immagine me being there, best hair, clothing and everything, with a brace along my nose. That would have been something.
What’s for sale? My grandmothers belongings, that is, what’s left of it.
Here I put some things on the Dutch eBay.
This sunday there were some festivities, fleemarket f.e., and a photographer down at the square and the terrasses. He made this picture of M. and me.
That was after we cleared out my cellar. I’m very glad she helped me. Alone it would have been a heck of a job and now it was just fun and very quicly done. And I have more space than ever.
Today was a bit of an odd day. I promised to be in the former room of my grandmother to have it cleared out by the second hand shop people. No idea what that is called in English.
Anyways, the appointment was that they would come in the morning, anywhere between 9 and 12 o’clock. And what do you think? Right, 12 o’clock they arrived. In the mean time I had been reading yesterdays paper and Harry Potter. Not a bad way to spend a morning in a unfurnished and empty room. And gladly they came to pick up my grandmothers chair, amongst other furniture so I could sit rather comfy.
So half of my day was gone, is that busy or not.
And in the afternoon I had a drink with someone who just started with his own company. Bit like I do but financial. Easy these days to find work in that direction. I do like it when I’m asked for help and advise.
And in between, I really can not not mention this, I saw our very own queen in a sort of carpet or curtains speak to our parliament. I know, I should analyse our future at this point, but how can you listen to her when she is wearing this. And on her head, can you believe that. She is so brave to dare direct the people, wearing this. (foto ANP)
Robert Lang is this amazing folder, origami. Can you believe, folding for 7 days?
