Isn’t that great, Bernice Notenboom, the first woman on skis at the South Pole. I worked with her in 2001 on some of her trips with Indian Americans in America. She has a travel agency, Mokitreks.

Now this. I remember her as a strong adventures woman, with a lot of perseverance.

Just got ‘Digitenne‘ this afternoon. Did not have to pay anything and walked out of the shop with the complete box.

I must admit, it is exactley as promised. Within 10 minutes everything is working really fine. Perfectly sharp pictures and 29 TV stations. The antenna stands next to the TV so no ugly wires through the room. I really am quite enthousiastic about this whole thing.

They do have a usb version for the computer but that is only for PC. Not for the Mac. Succers! I would have preferred that because then I can easily watch TV anywhere.

For now I stick with the Digitenne I have. It’s a free trial for one month. And I already think I’m going to cancel the UPC cabel. Saves me about 10 euro every month.

The only disadvantage is that there is no BBC 1 and 2 on this Digitenne.

Last night I saw this utmost bizarre opera SnowWhite.

Can’t repeat any of it without looking awfuly crazy. One scene is when Snow White comes home from her psychiatrist. The 7 window-cleaners ask her: “How was the psychiatrist?” “He said I was a screaming bore”

Beautiful voices. Had a nice evening, and long too.

Went to a very nice exhibition today about animals in circuses. How they are tamed and grown.

This exposition started in september last year. Long before the discussion these days in parliament. But that did trigger me to go and see it. Impressive.

This is how it looks now. I’m very happy with it, Not in the least because it is all finished now.

The other day the news on the frontpage was aboutJamie Oliver killing chickens live on television. People were shocked and had tears in their eyes.
His goal was good. You can read about it on the internet everywhere.

The reason I put it here on my blog is that in my newspaper, the NRC, there was an article about it on the same page as a recepe for… yes, chicken!

The problem isn’t losing weight, it’s gaining weight.

He has en engineering approach to the subject that pleasses me.

Suppose you want to take off 10 pounds over two months. Just work out the total calories you have to burn by multiplying the pounds you wish to lose by the calories in a pound of fat, 10 × 3500 = 35000, divide by the number of days in two months, 35000 / 60 ≈ 585, and then you know what to eat less every day. If you know what you burn every day (for me that’s about 2000 calories) you know what to do. It’s as simple as that.

Ok, the site doen’t look sophisticated at all and its all text but then again, its the content that counts. Its noting new too, but to me it’s worth wile reading it again.

THE movie in the Netherlands at the moment. Dutch film and of international quality I must say.

The other day I went to this movie, everything is love is the meaning of the title.

I loved it. Its a real feel good movie, happy endings all over. Very nice. Not deep at all. Good casting en good playing either.

Go and see it, you’ll spend a very nice two hours. Sometimes you don’t want to think meaningfull thoughts… don’t you?
